1987 Renault Alpine GTA V6 Turbo
Four owners, the current for 22 years; huge history file; recent service; funky Eighties styling at its finest!
Supplied new by Renault Covent Garden of London in November 1987, this GTA V6 Turbo has had just four owners to date and has been in the current ownership since 1999 at which point it had covered some 84,000 miles, the odometer now showing 112,170 miles.
The current owner kept a detailed log of every mile covered and every penny spent on the car from 1999 to 2017 when it was put into storage due to ill health. Dozens of invoices show meticulous upkeep over this 18-year period, most of the servicing being carried out by Roadspeed Performance of Stroud with the odd visit to Hillcrest Specialist Cars of Nettlebed, Oxon. Calculations show that the car has averaged 22.8mpg and invoices show that it was resprayed in 2004 when the Azev wheels were also refurbished.
Dozens of earlier invoices show that the car was maintained by Renault agent Rogate Garage of Petersfield between 1994 and 1999 when the mileage rose from c.40k to c.84k. The work carried out over the years is far too detailed to cover here but it is abundantly clear that the car has been extremely well looked after for many years. Other documentation includes 23 old MOTs back to 1993, current V5C and old style V5, magazine road tests of similar cars in period plus much else besides.
Recently taken out of storage, we are told that the car has just had a brake overhaul, engine service, new coolant radiator and waxoil treatment, sailing through its MOT in January this year with no advisories recorded. Starting promptly and running nicely as we moved it around for these photos, it appears to be in generally good condition for its age and is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.
