Charming and dependable 2.0 240 in GL guise from long term, 30 year ownership; in lovely order with 29 old MOTs

Dating from November 1988 this lovely old Volvo 240 has been in our vendor's caring hands since July 1991, almost 30 years - quite the testament to his love for the car and Volvo's legendary build quality.

Fitted here with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to 5-speed manual transmission this smart saloon version is finished in red with contrasting charcoal cloth interior and comes in GL spec featuring heated front seats, original radio cassette player, electric front windows, mirrors, quartz clock and heated rear screen.

The car has covered 165,056 miles, the last 25,000 of these happening over the last 8 years - usage getting less and less as our vendor got older until recently he is sadly no longer able to drive.  The car has been kept garaged and looked after like a member of the family - it has been loved.

Within the history file we find the V5c showing just one owner prior to our vendor, an old style log book, an impressive 29 old MOTs idating back to 1991 at 32,901 miles plus the current ticket valid until September 2021 with just one advisory recorded for slightly chafed brake hose and owner's pack.  Within the owner's pack we find the original service log showing the car was supplied by Olds Volvo of  Cirencester and 17 service stamps, the last dated September 1998 at 80,096 miles by SNC of Bristol and a host of old tax discs.
