Late model V6-powered example from 9 year lady ownership showing just 43,490 miles; removable hard-top

AMENDMENT (within the text)

Supplied new in March 2000 by Ciceley Continental Ltd Mercedes main dealer (No. 022) and finished in desirable blue with mushroom hide, this smart 'Sports Lightweight' example boasts the 201bhp 2.8 V6 engine mated to 5-speed automatic transmission, with factory fitted hard-top and sits on its original 5-spoke blade alloy wheels.

The spec of the car includes, (as de-coded from the data sticker) electricaly adjustable steering column (441), instrument with mileage reading in English (461), ESP (472), folding mirrors (500), 4-speaker stereo (533), rear seats (565), assymetrical headlights for LH traffic (613), packing for transport (668), burred walnut trim (731), dark blue 5010 mohair hood (744),
change of model year, MY1999 facelift spec (809), heated seats (873) and CoC (984). 

This R129 gas been with our lady owner since June 2012 when the car had covered just 21,000 miles.  It currently shows just 43,490 miles, with our vendor covering just 22,000 miles during her 9 year tenure.  The condition of the car is testament to this, with but a few small scratches (from a cat?) on the boot lid, a small oxidation blister on the corner of the hard top B-pillar which is common place and an area of wear on the driver's bolster, not uncommon with the soft leather on these cars.

Within the history file we find the V5C showing just 3 previous owners, owner's pack with manuals and service booklet showing PDI and 1 service stamp from the supplying dealer in May 2003 at 15,124 miles, current MOT valid until November 2021 with one minor advisory for front number plate deterioration, old style V5, 2 keys, 13 old MOTs dating back to 2003 at 11,795 miles, puchase invoice from May 2003  for £27,500 at 15,143 miles, numerous old tax discs and invoices for maintenance.

The most recent being for a repair in July 2020 at a cost of £711 which included a new water pump and auxillery belt with tensioner, new antifreeze and hose clips.  Furthermore, a main dealer service in July 2018 was carried out by Mercedes of Blackburn at 29,300 miles including check over and brake fluid change at a cost of £290.

AMENDMENT - Hardtop has been removed, roof functioned as it should at the time, but upon putting the soft-top up its apparent there is a crack on the rear left quarter panel window and in the centre, the stitching has come away from the screen to the right hand side.

A tidy, later example just prior to the end of production in 2001 and as such, a very usable car with all the looks of the bigger engines without the consumption of runnings costs and enough performance for most in a desirable colour scheme with just 43,490 miles on the clock.  Ideal we think.
