1934 Morris Twelve-Four Saloon
Just two registered keepers since 1996; delightful looking saloon with sunshine roof; runs and drives; may need some brake adjustment
This is one good looking Morris. It has had just four recorded keepers since 1938 so it is only the the first four years of its life that remains a mystery.
The Twelve-Fours were only produced for a short time and were the first Morris to be know by their taxable horsepower ratings - following on from the previous Oxfords, Cowleys and Isis models. They were only available in saloon format with just two variations – fixed or sliding head – this being the latter. Only four colours were available and this one was produced with the blue cellulosed body with the matching blue upholstery that you see today. The leather is gently worn in places, but is not in need of attention other than regular feeding and is very appealing.
We understand that the brakes may need some adjustment but everything else mechanical seems in order and it certainly had no problems driving off the transporter and into our building. From the same stable as the Daimler in the previous lot, it has obviously been very well cared for and is a rare opportunity to acquire a hugely original, charming and delightful pre-war motor car.
