1971 Fiat 500F
An extensive and complete
restoration of a UK RHD example; one for the serious collector;
absolutely no rust!
This UK supplied car was first registered on 15th
April 1971.
The shell was stripped, the rot was cut out, then acid dipped
before welding took place. The shell has had the following; new doors, bonnet,
engine cover, both front wings, front inner and outer panels, rear quarters
complete, floor panels, inner and outer sills. Also, four new outer wheel
arches, engine mount panel, rear spring mounts and all jacking and lifting
points. All the above producing what is effectively a new body shell which has
been painted underneath, inside and out.
Mechanically it has had all new
suspension, complete braking system (drums, shoes, lines, flexi-hoses),
steering, cables, springs (front & rear) shock absorbers, stub axles, five
new steel wheels all with new Pirelli Cinturato tyres. A new battery has been
installed along with a new fuel tank & pipes. The original wiring loom
has been refurbished. As a result, all electrics are fully working - all
external lights (headlamps rear lamps & flashers) are new. The carpet is new
and the front and rear seats have been reupholstered with all new covers. Front
seat belts have been fitted and the original steering wheel
refurbished.
The engine was completely rebuilt to the standard
specification replacing items as required ( ie all bearings, big end shells,
core plugs, pistons & rings (standard bore), exhaust valves, seals, timing
chain, clutch plate, distributor cap, leads, points, condenser and coil. The
original gearbox was rebuilt with new drive shafts, flanges & couplings,
engine and gearbox mounts with all new rubber items.
The rebuild was
undertaken, set up & checked by a recognised Fiat 500 expert with 18 years
experience with this model. What an opportunity to get a UK-supplied RHD 500
with a meticulus rebuild to better than new condition. Come and have a
look....
