Dating from April 1990 this later model
2nd Generation Scirocco GT (Typ 53B) comes to us finished in smoke
silver with body coloured wheel arches and sills sitting upon a set of BBS style
Lenso X-spoke alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet,
we find a 1.8 litre 8-valve four-cylinder engine driving the front wheels via
five-speed manual transmission.
On the inside
are grey cloth seats with black trim, manual windows, digital clock and
Blaupunkt radio/CD. The dash has suffered some of the usual cracking to the top
of the binnacle common on this generation of Scirocco, but is minor compared to
many.
The car shows just 73,138 miles which
although unsubstantiated, looks like it may be valid given the car’s condition,
but we’ll let you make your own minds up there.
The
history file includes the V5C recording just five former keepers, the owner’s
pack, Haynes manual, one old MOT and few bills including recent spend on
adjustment of the coil-over suspension, new rocker cover gasket, new ball
joints, new central exhaust section plus current MOT valid until April 2023
which recorded no advisories.
Ready to be
enjoyed these later model Sciroccos used to play second fiddle to their bigger
Corrado brother, but times are changing and they are becoming more sought after
and rising in value and popularity as a result.
