1995 Mercedes-Benz E220 Cabriolet
(W124)
Pretty face-lift example from long term ownership
showing 112,471 miles; black leather interior; appreciating model with good
history file dating back to 1996
Supplied new in
Germany in February 1995, this attractive, later model C124 generation
(W124) E220 Cabriolet was not registered in the UK until July 1995 and is
finished in Tourmaline green metallic with a contrasting black Mohair hood.
It sits on its original 15” eight-hole alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, we find the 2.2-litre M111.960 16-valve
four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 148bhp and 210NM of torque which
gives the car ample performance for most (and better fuel efficiency than the
bigger six-cylinder models) driving the rear wheels via four-speed automatic
transmission with Sport and Economy mode.
Inside, we find a black leather with manually adjustable seats,
walnut trim, electric soft-top, dual zone climate, seat belt butlers, wind
deflector, electric windows, electric mirrors, heated rear screen and heated
seats.
The car shows 112,471 miles which is
backed up by a good history file including the V5C revealing just four former
keepers to the current of nine years, an old V5C, the service book recording
eight stamps inc. PDI, the last by Mercedes Benz of Brunswick in June 2000 at
54,588 miles and a selection of invoices and Tracker docs plus some 18 old MOTs
back to 1998 at 38,949 miles.
Invoices on file
date back to 1996 and include a new battery in April this year with others
showing more recent servicing and repairs often by Mercedes main dealers. The
current MOT runs until July 2022 recording five advisories (enter the reg online
– check-mot.service.gov.uk). Ready
to be enjoyed, these later C124 cabriolets are elegant, stylish and practical
offering proper seating for four with nice lines and full top-down
motoring.
