1994 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet
(W124)
Face-lift example from 22 year lady ownership with
scope for minor cosmetic improvement boasting a decent spec including desirable
Sportline suspension
Supplied new by Brunswick
Croydon Limited, Mercedes main dealer in November 1994, this elegant Mercedes
C124 (W124) series Cabriolet comes to us in face-lift E320 guise and is finished
in Azurite Blue, with matching blue Mohair soft-top and sits upon its original
15” eight-hole alloy wheels and was ordered with Sportline suspension making it
rather desirable.
Under the bonnet, we find the
3.2-litre M104.992 inline straight-six petrol engine which develops 220bhp
driving the rear wheels via four-speed automatic transmission with Sports and
Economy mode.
Inside the cabin, we see beige
leather trim with manually adjustable seats, automatic seat belt butlers
(passenger side appears not to work), walnut trim, electric windows, glass
heated rear screen, electric soft-top, heated front seats, electric mirrors,
Blaupunkt Oslo RCC24 radio/cassette player, central arm rest, wind deflector,
fitted car cover and head light wash/wipe.
The
car shows 104,511 miles and presents largely well bar a few marks to the
soft-top, some holes to the interior soft-top lining and the usual W124 series
corrosion to the front wings but nothing too scary, but enough to warrant some
thought and planning perhaps. Starting promptly, the car appeared to run as it
should and moved around with ease for these images and video, with the electric
roof working correctly.
The history file
includes the V5C revealing just three former keepers to our lady owner who has
enjoyed the car for the last 22 years, the owner’s manual and service booklet
recording an impressive 15 stamps inc. PDI – 14 of which have all been by
Mercedes main dealers, the last by BJH Motors, BMW & Mercedes specialists of
Worcester in October 2010 at 96,558 miles suggesting limited mileage has been
covered in the last 12 years.
The file also
includes a small selection of invoices for parts and service work dating back to
2000 along with 21 old MOTs and current MOT valid until the end of July this
year which recorded just one advisory for OSR shock absorber. Invoices of note
include a recent £1,872 spend on a new roof module in June 2021 and lube service
in August 2019.
An ideal use and improve
example with the right engine and desirable Sportline suspension from long term lady
ownership at sensible money.
