1993 BMW 520i SE Touring (E34)

Rare to find three-owner six-cylinder manual Touring from 23 year lady ownership showing just 83,649 miles; in storage for the past 5 years; lovely order; a proper Retro-Ride

Supplied new by Hampshire Cars BMW main dealers in August 1993 this now very rare to find E34 generation of 5-series comes to us in desirable 520i Touring guise, Touring of course the name given to BMW’s excellent range of estate cars.

Finished in Calypso Red metallic the car looks completely standard, and wonderfully unmolested, still sitting upon its original 15” X-spoke alloy wheels shod with traditionally high profile tyres for superior ride quality.

Under the bonnet of this E34, we find the 2.0 litre M50B20TU straight-six petrol engine which develops 148bhp and 190NM of torque driving the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission making this family load lugger much more engaging and fun.

Inside this SE spec example we find grey cloth seats which look to have worn their 29 years and 83,649 miles well – no surprise, the car comes to us from 23 year lady ownership, of which the last five have been spent tucked up in storage.

The spec includes electric windows front and rear, electric sunroof with two sections, front and rear which all looks to work as it should (see images) along with heated rear window, Pioneer radio/cassette player, analogue clock and height adjustable head lights.

The car started and ran as it should as we moved it around for these shots and video, a pleasure to be in, the feeling of traditional BMW quality in evidence.

The history file includes the V5C revealing just two former keepers to our lady, an old V5C, the owner’s pack with service book recording nine service stamps, all BMW main dealer bar the most recent by a local independent BMW specialist in June this year. The book also contains two further stamps for brake fluid changes and one body inspection stamp.

In addition, the file includes eight old Mots dating back to 1996 at 24,276 miles and a selection of old main dealer service bills and check lists from the mid to late 90s.  The current MOT is valid until July 2023 recording five minor advisories.
