1995 Peugeot 106 Rallye
Cult classic pocket
rocket in what looks like lovely order; enthuiast owned with much useful work

Dating from
August 1995 this little Gem is a 90’s Hero car for many with its lightweight,
boxy styling and small but potent little engine offering surprising go and
superb dynamics.
Finished in Red with its
discreet Red, Blue, Yellow and Grey Rallye stripes and white steel wheels shod
with sticky Toyo Proxes CF2 tyres the 106 Rallye Phase 1 looks a visual treat
for sure and presents very well.
Under the
bonnet, we find the potent 1.3 litre TU2J2 four-cylinder petrol engine which
develops 97bhp at a screaming 7,200rpm driving the front wheels through
five-speed transmission.
Inside the
comfortable, yet spartan cabin we find two-tone grey cloth seats, red carpets
with black over mats, keep-fit manual windows, manual adjustment mirrors, no
stereo, heated rear screen and digital clock only in good order with just a few
marks as pictured.
The car shows 148,733 miles
showing just how usable these hot hatches are. Our vendor has enjoyed the car for the
past couple of years, during which time he has spent much time and money getting
the car ‘just right’ and looking how we see it now.
The history file includes the V5C recording 19 former keepers, nine
old MOTs and a selection of bills for parts and maintenance including the recent
spend on a new RH tie rod adjusting bar for the steering and inner tie bar, new
intake manifold gasket, new steering rack all in November 2022. Another bill shows fitment of new front
springs, replacement Cat and rear exhaust section for £669 in September 2022
plus a new O2 sensor in the same month.
Also on
file, we find a bill for fitment of a replacement gearbox with new transmission
oil in October 2012 at 104,044 miles as well as the current MOT, valid until
September 2023 with no advisories recorded.
Considered one of the most collectible of the 90’s Hot Hatches in
recent times, these have become very good news and to find one in what looks to
be such nice condition is likely tricky nowadays. Investment
