Originally entered military service in 1998; civilian registered with
Wolf number in 2022; subject to substantial refurbishment
Substantially refurbished during 2022, this Wolf is now looking
very impressive, especially with her own WLF number plate.
A matching numbers Defender, with what appears to be the original
chassis, engine and gearbox, this example is ideal for USA export, now being 25
years old and clearly stating the VIN number under the windscreen, on the pedal
box chassis plate and the chassis itself.
Originally in service from 1998, she was subject to a REMUS upgrade
so there is a roll cage, internal sound proofing and the dinitrol rustproofing
to the chassis and bulkhead. The panels look surprisingly straight for one of
these so appears to be a rare example that has not been jumped up and down on by
over enthusiastic soldiers!
Having covered
105,000 km (not warranted), it appears to be a relatively low mileage TUM and
during the refurbishment, she had a full service including new belts, the
chassis was treated with more dinitrol to conserve what was already in decent
order, the electrics were helpfully converted to 12v and a very smart genuine
new Wolf hood was fitted with the additional Velcro rear
flap.
Under the smart new hood on the rear, the
tailgate has been modified to be side opening and incorporates a hydraulic
damper to stop it flapping around in the wind. Below, there is also a handy
military grade step plate which eases climbing in from the rear. Towing
capability has also been modified, keeping the original NATO hook but also
having a normal drop bar to allow the towing of civilian trailers
etc.
Driven just over 100 miles to the auction
on brand new all terrain tyres, this seems to be a well sorted Wolf ready to be
used by its new owner.
