Very smart factory V8; MOD; UK home market car in Tahiti blue; chrome
conversion; lovely underneath
This really very smart MGB V8 comes
with a BMIHT Heritage Certificate stating it left the works on 23rd January 1976
destined for Kennings Ltd, Harrogate. Fitted with cast alloy wheels and an
overdrive, it was painted Tahiti blue with black upholstery which it carries to
this day.
The ownership history in the file shows its fair share of
keepers over the years, but they have either cared for it like their favourate
child or it has been well restored at some time in the recent past.
There
are plenty of bills on file, the most recent for a professional retrim of the
front seats in their original material. The vendor acquired it from a dealer
earlier in the year to re-live his V8 from years gone by. Now that itch has been
scratched, he has other plans hence its inclusion into the sale.
Looking
very sharp, with good panel fit, paintwork and smart interior, the engine is
turbine-smooth, the overdrive is fully functioning and the underside is in super
order.
The file includes a handbook, various parts suppliers lists and a
new ignition barrel - the existing one works fine but the key is a bit of a
fiddle to get back in. The temperature gauge also under-reads, and a new dual
gauge is supplied which the vendor has not got round to
fitting.
A past owner has added a chrome bumper conversion kit, aside
from which the car looks in original and standard spec, and certainly represents
one of the straightest examples we have offered.
