to have been written down wrong or speedo stuck breifly during circa
2009/2015.

Golf was supplied new by Listers of Coventry in January 1991. The service book was stamped seven times until 1999 when the speedo
showed 42,500 miles. At this point it was with a third keeper in
London where it sold for a respectable price for the day - £4,995. There appear
to be another five or so keepers including our vendor.
Invoices on file show a new battery in 2005, decent service in
2006, new hood fitted in 2010, new gasket set and exhaust in 2018 and
substantial general maintenance between every MOT. It now shows 86,887 miles and
the current MOT runs until September 2024 with just one curious
advisory for 'wax oiled underneath' - surely a good thing...
Our vendor acquired the car only a year or so ago but she has sadly
not had the time to use it, hence being up for sale. Driven to the sale after a
new alternator and belt were fitted, it seems ready to go and apart from a few
age-related marks, the interior and exterior seem in very respectable order for
what is now a 32-year-old car.
