Ammendment: Proper barn find Ferrari; in storage for 30+ years; one of
only 524 made; RHD; 5-speed manual; sensible miles; fascinating
project and your chance to own a front-engined V12 Ferrari with a
manual 'box
Bidders please note this lot now comes with an
extra spare wheel, Ferrari tool kit (photographed), a used car invoice from
1983, a bill from 1983 from Sussex Sports Cars and three old MOTs.
The
owner of 365 COW acquired it back in the 1980s as his everyday hack.
A
move out of town to a farm in rural Herefordshire meant that his 4x4 got more
use than the Ferrari, which was put away in a rustic barn in around 1992. It was
driven in, turned off, and was to remain there until this April when
Brightwells exhumed it from its resting place.
It has faired pretty well
considering, although there is some rust evident as shown in the photos and
the interior needs a careful and deep clean. The engine, which hasn't run for 30
+ years, still turns over - how hard can it be?
It was originally painted
blue and the indicated 72,000 miles is thought to be correct although there is
no documentation whatsoever apart from some old tax discs. Furthermore, the
registration has fallen off the DVLA radar so the lovely number 365 COW is no
longer on the DVLA database. It may be possible to reunite it with the car
(the tax discs may help) but that task will be down to the new owner.
One
of only 524 made, the vast majority in LHD, this is not a project for the
faint-hearted but will richly reward the hard work and dedication
required at which point its lucky new owner will have his very own RHD
front-engined V12 Ferrari with a manual gearbox...
