adventures
As the original purchase invoice shows, this VW Camper
was supplied new via Riversley Garage of Warwickshire to a DR Jack in April
1979. It comes with a vast and detailed history folder from new that shows
meticulous upkeep throughout its life.
This included an extensive
restoration in c.2001 with new wheel arches, new doors, repairs to the floor
etc, followed by a full respray. The engine was also rebuilt in 2005 with new
piston rings, gaskets, bearings etc, and it has only done around 9,000 miles
since.
There are 17 stamps in the service book, the last at 60,066 miles
in 1987, the odometer currently showing (1)38,460 miles.
Our vendors acquired the VW in
2005 and have enjoyed numerous family holidays in their 19-year ownership but as
the kids have now flown the nest, they have decided that the time has now come
to pass it on to a new owner.
Many old MOTs show that it has been tested
annually in the current ownership up until 2021 and it is, of course, now
MOT-exempt. We can also see that the mileage has dropped off significantly in
recent years, hence the reason for sale.
Driven 50 miles to the auction,
this lovely VW Camper has been starting promptly and running well as we have
moved it around on site.
