expenditure including a repaint, front disc brakes and new wiring loom; driven

First registered in March 1955, this Morris
Minor has been with our vendor since 2013 and in that time has undergone a
drastic transformation with lots of good expenditure to get this Morris into the
state you see today.
Starting life as a Saloon, this Minor went under the
knife in 2013 to transform it into a Tourer, using a convertible conversion kit
from East Sussex Minors which conforms to the factory spec, the work itself
being carried out by Fairmile Restorations.
An email on file from
Fairmile Restorations confirms the nature of the work that took place and that
all the correct measures were taken to get this Morris looking right. These
included sill stiffeners along with B-post supports and under dashboard supports
all welded in place in the same style as the factory-built versions. The front
crossmember and chassis legs were also replaced. Now recorded as a 1098cc Morris
Convertible on the V5C, it would take a real expert to recognize this as a
conversion.
During our vendor’s 12-year ownership this Minor has had
some good upgrades in the form of Ford front brake discs with servo assistance,
new wiring loom and anti-roll bar, the radiator has been re-cored, retrimmed
Vauxhall Corsa front seats have also been fitted plus much else besides.
A full respray also took place, but unfortunately the painter was taken
ill before he could get the job totally finished, thus some flatting and
polishing may be in order for a perfectionist new keeper.
Driven 30 miles
to the sale, this lovely open-topped Moggie will be a fine way to get around
over the coming summer months and has been running and driving nicely on
site.
