The coolest way to beat
the rising fuel costs; battery included; no rental costs;
showing under 2,000 miles; entertaining and practical two seater;
impossible to drive without a smile on your face
Launched in 2012, the Renault Twizy
was Renault’s boldest foray into ultra-compact electric mobility, designed
to slot neatly between a scooter and a city car. Built in Valladolid, Spain, and
penned by Renault’s forward-thinking design team, the Twizy
offered a radical solution to urban congestion: a lightweight,
tandem-seat electric quadricycle with zero
emissions, minimal running costs and a driving experience unlike anything else
on the road.
Its futuristic styling, tiny footprint and plug-and-go charging made it a favourite with
city dwellers, campus fleets and anyone wanting a fun, practical and slightly
eccentric way of getting around. Today, the Twizy has become something of a cult
machine - admired for its simplicity, charm and the sheer novelty of its
design.
This
particular example is a 2015 Renault Twizy Urban, finished in a striking bright
orange and white colour scheme that suits the car’s playful character perfectly.
First registered in June 2015, it has covered fewer than 2,000 miles from new,
presenting in very tidy condition throughout.
Importantly, unlike many Twizys offered for
sale, this one comes with the battery included, meaning there are no ongoing
battery rental charges to worry about — a significant advantage for future
running costs.
Powered by a 13 kW electric motor, the Twizy
offers a top speed of 52 mph and a real-world range of up to 50 miles.
Charging is as simple as it gets: just plug into a standard UK 3-pin household socket and
it’s ready to go. With its
featherweight construction, tight turning circle and unique seating layout, it
remains one of the most entertaining and practical urban EVs
available.
A
charming, low-mileage example of
Renault’s most distinctive electric
creation, offered with the benefit of battery ownership and very light
use.
