advanced for its day, the Isabella helped establish Borgward as one of Germany's
most ambitious manufacturers, while the rare Coupe variant with
a shortened roof line is widely regarded as one of the finest automotive
designs of the period.
Manufactured in 1959 and first registered in the
UK in July 2021 by the current vendor, this striking two-door Coupe has
benefitted from a comprehensive restoration carried out over the last five
years. The vendor has supplied a fascinating photographic record of the work
undertaken, including images of the bare bodyshell mounted on a rollover jig,
demonstrating the thoroughness of the restoration and the considerable
investment made in returning the car to its current condition.
