11 old MOT certificates;
currently displays 119,659 miles; accompanying history includes 21 service
stamps; MOT and road tax exempt
An attractive example of the
Mercedes-Benz R107-series SL, finished in red with a black leather interior and
accompanied by both its folding soft top and removable hardtop. Powered by the
2,746cc six-cylinder engine with automatic transmission, the 280 SL offers
classic Mercedes-Benz styling and comfortable open-top
motoring.
First registered in January
1985, this example has had seven former keepers and currently displays 119,659
miles. The accompanying history includes 21 service stamps up to 2015, 11 old
MOT certificates, a handbook, original brochure and a selection of invoices
documenting some of the work carried out over the
years.
The last MOT expired in May
2025, and the car is now MOT and road tax exempt on account of its age. It has
been in storage for over 12 months and may therefore benefit from further mild
recommissioning before returning to regular use.
The Mercedes was
starting, driving and stopping while on site for photography and a short
video.
An appealing classic SL,
offered with both roof options and a useful collection of service history and
supporting paperwork. Further photographs showing the car with the soft top
lowered will be added shortly.
