The golf course at Kington offers a magnificent panorama overlooking The Brecon Beacons, The Black Mountains, The Malvern Hills, The Shropshire and Clee Hills.

Together with the outstanding views, the superb greens and the forgiving turf make Kington a 'must play' destination. The course provides a great test of golf, on a layout offering unrivalled views of seven historic Counties. The fast-draining heathland terrain renders the course playable throughout the year with no need for temporary tees or greens.

Although less than 6000 yards off the Competition tees, the course is rarely over-powered and provides a challenge because of the undulating ground; the mounding around the greens; and the ever-present gorse & fern lining the fairways. The greens are quick, relatively small and well-protected so approach shots need to be precise.

There are no sand bunkers or water-hazards at Kington but the course is defended by the contoured grass bunkers and the elements. The magnificent views can come at the price of a hilltop breeze!

Kington is a unique challenge and tests creativity and shot-making to the full. Precision from the tee and deftness around the greens are the keys to success.
