Description
1969 Morris 1100
Fitted
with reconditioned 1,300cc engine; large bore exhaust; gearbox stripped,
cleaned and rebuilt; bodywork perhaps needs a little tlc but this looks like a
lot of fun
Originally
registered in 1969 as an 1100 saloon, this Morris is now fitted with a more
pokey 1,300cc engine (V5C not yet altered). We believe that all the alterations
were made by the 4th/5th keeper between 2016 and
2019.
The
fully reconditioned engine was dropped in with new bearings, rings and gaskets,
new oil and water pumps, filters, cooling fan, hoses and timing
chain.
A
new fast-road camshaft was chosen for extra zest and the long centre three
branch exhaust manifold and large bore outlet gives potential for a lot of
fun.
We
understand considerably more has been done, including a new clutch in 2016, the
gearbox stripped, cleaned and rebuilt, new brake and clutch master cylinders,
replaced brake lines, electric washer system and upgraded headlights and period
spot lights fitted.
Now
showing 78,000 miles, the car was last MOTd in 2017. The body shows a little
sign of rust here and there but nothing serious. As can be seen in the photos,
the interior has suffered a little too although it is all there and only worn
where one would expect.
Bidders are advised that the original steering
wheel, headlights and dashboard console are included. The vendor really enjoyed
his last drive, overtaking one, two and possibly lots of other cars on the 20
plus mile drive to our site in Leominster!
