1978 Triumph TR7 Auto

Owned by the same family since new; recorded mileage of only 9,196 miles

Originally purchased from Fletchers of Swansea by our vendor's great uncle in 1978.

Recorded in the file is the initial purchase invoice and its first MOT in 1981.

Put through an MOT every year until 1997 recording the mileage steadily rising to 8,333.

We understand from the details supplied to us that it was most likely laid up between about 1998 and 2003, when it changed hands to our vendors father. In 2010, it transfered to our vendor, still showing only 8,340 miles. After a few years standing, it needed some recommissioning.

Firstly, the bodywork was looked over, rusted areas were welded and replaced and a respray completed. A further £600 was spent on replacing various miscellaneous pipes and wiring.

The following year a reconditioned unleaded head was fitted and it started being regularly put through an MOT again until 2015 when it would have been almost old enough not to need one. An invoice on file also shows it having some wax oyl treatment then.

A fresh MOT has been passed in April this year with no advisories, showing only 9,108 miles. A touch over that when it was photographed for sale and driven in our car park, this is certainly thought to be genuine.

Spot on, rarely presented with the automatic gearbox and mostly original (new carpets and headlining) – it seems a very useable car with electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust also included.
