2002 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph
Stonking V12
Seraph sold new in Japan; believed to be a former Yakuza car with extensive spec
showing just 43,000 miles
Dating from November
2002 this magnificent Rolls Royce Silver Seraph looks like it may have led an
interesting life in Japan, from where it came to our vendor, a Rolls Club member
and enthusiast, who sought it out having heard about the
car.
We gather the car belonged to the infamous
Yakuza in Japan, the car still bearing some known insignia, and being extremely
well optioned too, our vendor had to have it.
Finished in gleaming dark blue with black leather
interior piped red, and matching red R-R embossed emblems in the head rests, we
also find extended walnut trim throughout, including the exquisite timbered
steering wheel, electric heated front memory seats and electric heated rear
seats too with lambswool carpets in Oxblood to match the piping with fitment
of luxurious burr walnut picnic tables for rear
passengers.
We also note the presence of the
optional sunroof, an extended Alpine sound system in copper colour, fitted
navigation (in Japanese, which thinks we are in Tokyo), and a couple of other
hidden digital devices as pictured.
The car
presents beautifully with but a few minor marks to the body as pictured and a
wonderful interior and instantly powerful engine and shows just 42,776miles
having been converted on import and registration to the UK in December
2020.
Under the majestic bonnet, we find the
BMW-sourced 5.4 litre M73TUB54 V12 engine driving the rear wheels via five speed
ZF column selected automatic transmission giving a top speed of 140mph, with the
car’s base price starting at £155,175 at launch in 1999.
The history file includes the V5C showing one UK owner (our
vendor), the owner’s pack and Japanese service book with no stamps although we
do have two Japanese service sheets showing 9,116Km and then 37,843Km
respectively. We also note inclusion of one past MOT plus the current, valid
until October 2023 showing just two minor advisories for tyre wear and slight
misting to a rear shock absorber.
Ready to be
enjoyed and driven to the sale from South Wales, these Seraphs offer a different
angle to that of the similar Bentley Arnage with a different power train,
plusher finish, more relaxed gait and with just 1,570 built, rarity
too.
