Rare, automatic GTS model with walnut veneer and recent £10,400 spend
at a 928 specialist
AMMENDMENT TO DESCRIPTION
Supplied
new by Chariots of St.Albans
in September 1994 this later model Porsche 928 comes in desirable GTS guise and
is finished in Midnight Blue with body coloured rear spoiler and sits on 17”
five-spoke Cup 2 alloy wheels.
Ammendment
- Under the bonnet, we find a recently replaced 5.0 V8 engine from the
predecessor S4 model with GTS inlet manifold and cam covers sourced and
installed with much other associated work at a cost of some £10,000 in December
2022 by a 928 Specialist in Stroud, with the original 5.4-litre V8 engine
having failed (thrust bearing failure, 5mm of play) which develops 320bhp
driving the rear wheels here via four-speed automatic
transmission.
Inside,
we find a grey leather interior with unusual walnut trim to the centre console
and door cards, electric windows, electric mirrors, electric sunroof, on-board
computer
and useful 2+2 seating.
The
car shows 106,672 miles and presents well with a few minor marks as shown in the
photographs.
The
history file includes the V5C showing 10
former keepers to the current of 13 years, the owners pack and service book
showing 20
stamps, the last at 105,920 miles in
December 2020 plus a further four stamps for brake fluid changes There are
three
stamps for cam belt check/changes, and three for condition report
guarantee.
In
addition, the file also includes 20 old MOTs, the current MOT valid until
December 2023 recording three minor advisories and a file of history including a
the aforementioned recent bill from a local 928 specialist for some
£10,471 in
December
2022 for the replacement engine, timing belt and water pump change and other
engine swap related works.
An
interesting car with considerable history and
much recent expenditure.
