Description
From long-term ownership; highly usable car ready to enjoy; RHD
conversion kit included but not fitted; good panel fit; a very solid car;
Heritage Certificate
This 1969 Jaguar E-type was imported from the US in 1991. It
was enjoyed for a year or so, entering the hands of the vendor in May of 1992
directly from the owner of the company who bought it into the
country.
Currently showing 71,461 miles, it comes with 25 old MOT
certificates. According to GOV.UK the MOTs were kept up to date until the latest
test expired in May 2018. Past tests show that the car was kept in good working
order, covering minimal mileage each year, sailing through the last seven
MOTs with no advisories.
Included within the document file is a
Heritage Certificate, showing the date of manufacture as 11th
November 1969, stating that the car would have originally been silver grey with
red trim.
With power steering as standard and a manual transmission,
it’s had a recent new exhaust system and we are told that its lovely to drive on
the road. In the boot is a right-hand drive conversion kit that the vendor
purchased when he got the car, although having used it on the
road realised that being LHD wasn't an issue, so never got round to
fitting it.
The front seats have
been re-trimmed with vinyl at some time in its life, the rears remaining in
nicely patinated leather and it has had new front carpets.
Under the
bonnet appears a little scruffy, although the absence of rust is clear and the
paintwork certainly isn’t to concours standard, but shows perhaps the best of
classic car ownership, being capable of use as intended
without worry.
Starting on
the button, this E-Type is ready to use and improve without breaking the bank.
