This Defender
Wolf SWB Hard Top entered service with the British Army in June 1998. A LHD
model, it formed part of the war reserve stock and has spent most of its life in
dehumidified storage in Germany. Our vendor acquired the vehicle direct from the
MoD when it was demobbed earlier this year.
It
has all the usual Wolf equipment including: 300Tdi engine; R380 5-speed gearbox;
transfer box with Hi/Lo ratio and centre diff lock; front and rear disc brakes;
power steering; snorkel; internal roof insulation; 24v electrics; heavy duty
chassis and axles; NATO tow hitch etc.
In
addition, it has been fitted with the MoD REMUS upgrade kit which includes a
front roll over protection system, anti-vibration acoustic matting, wax
injection of the chassis and bulkhead and chassis underseal treatment.
It is showing 61,453kms on the clock (38k
miles) which is believed to be correct. Driven over 100 miles to the sale on
trade plates, it has been starting promptly and running sweetly as we have moved
it around on site with commendably light steering and a quiet, well-insulated
cabin.
Not yet UK registered, it comes with a DISCO certificate (Date in
Service) confirming its identity which will enable it to get a V5C in
conjunction with the requisite DVLA form. It could also be exported to the USA
or Europe. Bidders are advised that VAT will be added to the hammer price.
