Description
Nice, usable example with smart interior; ideal starter
classic
Dating from October 1954 this bright
little Austin A30 is finished in Grey and comes in popular two-door guise with
traficators and sits on its period correct 13" steel wheels with polished centre
caps.
Under the bonnet, we find the venerable
803cc four-cylinder BMC A-Series petrol engine with single carb giving c.28Bhp
and 54NM of torque driving the rear wheels via four-speed manual
transmission. With some spirited
driving, period road tests saw between 67-70mph top speeds with a 0-50mph time
of 29 seconds and fuel consumption of c.38mpg.
Inside, we find a contrasting red vinyl interior with matching door
cards and carpet which look to have been renewed in recent times along with
fitment of the optional heater (a £9 option when new).
The history file includes just the V5C recording five former
keepers to our vendor and the car is, of course, free to tax and
MOT-exempt.
Presenting well given its age,
starting with ease and running as it should, this little A30 looks like a lot of
fun for a modest outlay with scope to improve a few bits cosmetically, as
pictured.
