Super 4.6 litre Mustang engined MG ZT 260 with manual 'box showing
just 52,718 miles; rare car, one of just 717 built and  very deisrable and
collectable as a result - fantastic sound! Featured on Classics World website in
a twin-test with the Thema 8.32
Dating from March
2004 this sonorous MG ZT 260 is finished in appealing grey metallic and sits on
its original 15-spoke 18” alloy wheels with a pair of polished tips emerging
from each side of the car’s rear, which emit a superb V8
bellow.
Under the bonnet, we find the
all-American 4.6 litre SOHC 16-valve V8 petrol engine which develops 260bhp,
driving the rear wheels (unlike all other MG ZT/Rover 75 variants) via
five-speed Tremec TR-350 manual transmission.
Inside the cockpit, we find comfortable and sporty black leather
seats with electric adjustment for driver and passenger, heated seats, electric
windows, electric mirrors, sat nav, radio cassette player, dual zone automatic
digital climate control with AC, front fog lights, heated front seats and
electric sunroof.
This example shows just
52,718 miles and presents very well internally and externally as pictured
with a smart interior including recently replaced headlining in black along with
an intoxicating, unmistakebly V8 exhaust note from the after-market back boxes–
lovely!
The history file includes the V5C
showing just four former keepers to our vendor who has enjoyed the car since
November 2016, the owner’s pack and service book recording 12 stamps, the last
in May 2020 at 47,898 miles by Morton Motors Ltd of
Monmouth.
In addition, the file includes an
impressive 16 old Mots, the current Mot valid until August 2024 which recorded
five minor advisories (enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk) and a
selection of bills for parts and maintenance.
Bills of note include new front brake callipers, discs and pads in
March-23, service including brake fluid renewal in May-20, replacement radiator
in 2018, replacement AC compressor in 2015 and other documented
works.
Looking to be a smart and most usable
example that was driven to the sale from Monmouthshire with lower mileage and a
manual ‘box, these are rare cars with just 883 V8’s built (717 MG’s and 166
Rover versions).

the Lancia Thema 8.32 in our Classics Sale, Lot 1.
