Description
Current
owner 14 years; nice period colour scheme; clean MOT; a most attractive
example of this classic Roadster
Amendment: We have just started it and
there appears to be a power steering fluid
leak.
First registered on Valentine's Day 1983,
this handsome 380SL comes from long term 14-year ownership and presents very
well for its age in a classic period colour scheme.
Fitted with a 3.8-litre V8 producing 215bhp sent to the rear wheels
via three-speed automatic transmission, this 380SL looks great in gold metallic
with what appears to be beautifully straight bodywork and a nice paint
finish. Showing 102,541 miles, the interior
presents very well for the age and comes with two-tone cream and brown leather
seats, wood centre console with contrasting black dash top, all appearing to be
in good condition with little wear or damage.
Coming with 19 old MOT certificates, a smattering of older invoices
and other miscellaneous paperwork, it also comes with a factory
hardtop which looks very smart apart from some misting of the
glass on both sides of the rear window (see photos). The brown canvas
soft top fits snugly and looks to be in very good
shape.
Driving very nicely on site, the V8 seems
to be pulling well and the gearbox is smooth, the engine bay itself looks very
clean and tidy in keeping with the rest of the car. Although it no longer needs
one, it has an MOT until 31st January 2025 with no advisories
recorded.
Overall, this is a great-looking and
seemingly well-kept example of an increasingly popular '80s sportscar,
that with some minor fettling would be ready to enjoy over the
coming summer months.
