Description
Heritage Shell; telescopic front suspension; older
restoration with scope for cosmetic TLC to the paintwork.
Sweet 1967
Austin-Healey Sprite MkIV, fitted with the 1,275cc A-Series engine producing
65bhp and 98ft/lb of torque driving the rear wheels via 4-speed manual
transmission.
Our vendor used this car regularly last summer after it had
been sitting in storage for 12 years. We are told a new Heritage Shell was
fitted in 2012, unfortunately we do not have any proof of this.
At some
point in the past telescopic suspension was added to replace the standard
suspension at the rear, a new hood was also fitted and looks to be in good
condition.
The paintwork unfortunately has not held up well as can be
seen in the photos.
Showing 44,887 miles on the clock, this sweet
Sprite has been starting promptly and driving around on site and could be a
great way into classic car ownership for the project-loving
petrolhead.
The vendor has added 'An honest little car that has been with
the owner for 30+ years. It had a Heritage shell in 2012, at the same time
getting an unleaded cylinder head and the front suspension converted to
telescopics, new hood etc. It was put away in a damp garage in 2017, hence the
paintwork has not faired well. It drove beautifully from Newtown to Leominster.
Use it as it is and consider doing the paintwork at the end of the
summer'.
