Description
Smart, earlier example from a deceased estate showing just 103,000
miles covered by just one owner from new until 2022; nice spec and boasting 20
stamps in the service book; driven to the sale
Supplied new in March 1987 by Castle’s Mercedes of Leicester to its
first owner Dr. Shah this rather fetching W124 series Merc 230E saloon is
finished in Blue/Black and sits on its original 15” 15-hole flat face alloy
wheels.
Under the bonnet, we find the 2.3 litre
M102.980 four-cylinder eight-valve petrol engine which developed 134bhp and
205NM of torque when new, driving the rear wheels here via four-speed automatic
transmission.
The interior is fitted with light
grey cloth trim, Zebrano wood trim, electric front and rear windows, electric
passenger mirror, manual seat adjustment, cruise control, heated rear window,
electric tilt/slide sunroof and period Blaupunkt Melbourne radio/Casette
player.
The car shows just 103,410 miles which
have been covered by the first owner until his demise in Spring 2022 when the
car passed to his daughter in London. The car presents beautifully with very
good bodywork with but a few minor marks as pictured, excellent interior and a
spare wheel that looks to have never been used. The car was driven to us by the vendor
who reports it drove without fault and remains a joy.
The history file includes the V5C confirming just one former
keeper, the owner’s manual and service book recording an impressive 20 stamps,
the majority by MB dealers with the last stamp in November 2017 at 102,756 miles
by Kingsbury Autocare Ltd, London which was a full service.
In addition, we also find two keys, original supplying dealer
stickers in the rear window, original plates and the current MOT, valid until
November 2023 recording no advisories.
