A full saleroom ensured a convivial mood; local collectors, merchants and restaurateurs were also joined by online bidders from Belgium, Denmark, Hong Kong and Italy.
With some 340 classic cars and motorcycles up for grabs, it was no wonder that there was such a huge turnout at Brightwells for the final sale of the year and the 10-acre site was packed to capacity and beyond by hordes of enthusiasts keen to bid on the enormous variety of machines on offer.
Brightwells Autumn Fine Art two-day sale followed three days of hectic viewing, with numerous requests for condition reports, a huge amount of commission bids placed & telephone bids booked.

Enthusiasm for the Welsh sections C and D and their part-breds was very much in evidence at the annual ‘cob sale’ held on the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells. A clearance rate of 89% was achieved for 320 animals forward; one of the highest recorded at this sale yielding an overall average of £1,408. A total of 68 animals broke the £2,000 barrier.
The 30th Sale found 35 horses new homes and achieved a higher Sale Average than in 2018, indeed the average price increased by nearly £150 on last year’s figure.
Interest in Welsh ponies brought enthusiasts from far and wide to the annual Fayre Oaks Sale. A total of 314 animals were forward for the two day sale with 242 finding new homes producing an average of £883 the highest since 2003 with a clearance rate of 77% up from 65% in 2018.

Averages: 17 show heifers, £2,396.47; 17 bulls, £2,890.59; 13 sale only heifers, £1,425.58
Despite a lower number of animals catalogued this annual sale attracted buyers countrywide and realised two of the highest prices for a Hay Sale in a decade. The average for the 81 animals sold was also one of the highest at £435 with a clearance rate of 76%.
