1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible (X100)

Appealing earlier 4.0 example in classic colours showing just 80,625 miles - ready for a Spring get-away?

Supplied new by Henlys Jaguar of London in ay 1997 this striking X100 series Jaguar XK8 Convertible is finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic and sits upon its original 17” five-spoke alloy wheels.  The folding fabric Mohair roof is also in matching dark blue which really sets the car off. 

Hood down, we see the typically well specced interior featuring cream interior with leather facings, walnut trim, electric seats with driver’s memory, cruise control, heated seats, digital climate control with A/C, original radio/cassette player with boot mounted CD changer, electric windows, mirrors, multi-function half-timbered steering wheel and trip computer.

Under the bonnet, we find the proven 4.0 litre AJ V8 series engine developing 290Bhp and 393NM of torque driving the rear wheels via five-speed automatic transmission which gave a 0-60mph time of 7 seconds for the convertible when new.

This example shows 80,625 miles and looks to be in appealing condition, the bodywork gleams (we suspect it has been re-painted at some point) and reconnolised interior with some signs of wear commensurate with the age and mileage. 

The history file of this XK8 includes the V5C revealing eight former keepers to the current local owner of eight years along with the owner’s pack and service book which reveals 12 stamps, the last in October 2014 at 75,326 miles by C&K Motors of Leominster.

In addition, we find an impressive 17 old MOTs along with the current valid until March 2023 showing two advisories (enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk) the car is ready to be enjoyed this coming Spring and Summer roof up, or roof down.
