Pretty, lady-owned automatic supercharged face-lift example in
appealing colour combination
Dating from March 2001 this pretty R170 generation of SLK is a face-lift model, finished in a delightful hue of Blue and sits upon its original five-spoke 16” alloy wheels and red painted brake callipers.
This example is a 230 Kompressor model, which translates to there being a 2.3 litre M111.983 four-cylinder petrol engine with supercharger that develops 194Bhp and 280NM of torque driving the rear wheels via five-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission.
Performance as a result, in such a light, small car was surprisingly rapid, with the dash to sixty taking just 7.3 seconds.
Inside, we find black leather seats with electric adjustment for the driver, polished aluminium dash trim, dual zone climate control with AC, traction control, cruise control and after-market flip out in-car entertainment system with navigation. We also note fitment of a useful wind deflector between the roll over hoops. The R170 series SLK does also of course, boast its clever folding metal roof with heated glass rear screen that looks to work as it should.
The car shows 108,829 miles, with the history file including the V5C revealing six former keepers to our lady owner and vendor, an old V5C, selection of invoices including purchase of a new propshaft bearing in October 2022, a bill totalling some £682 in June 2022 to include new brake pipes, O2 sensor on the exhaust, new front discs and pads plus check over and inspection plus at least ten old MOTs in addition to the current, valid until 29th June 2023 which recorded four minor advisories.
Ready to be enjoyed, these first generation SLK’s offer a lot for little outlay in terms of looks, performance and practicality with that legendary Mercedes star on the bonnet.
