Fruity 2.8 Injection MkIII Capri that's been recommissioned by our
vendor after many years of inactivity
Dating from
July 1983, this appealing Capri MkIII comes to us finished in Silver and boasts
the popular 2.8-litre fuel injected V6 engine and sits on correct Pepper Pot
alloy wheels.
Our vendor had known the car for
many years and finally acquired it back in 2019 and set about recommissioning
the car himself in his garage at home.
The car
was treated to new head gaskets (valve clearances checked at the time), new
steering and suspension bushes, new front and rear springs plus shocks, new
brake callipers, discs and shoes, a new clutch was also fitted, a re-conditioned
brake servo fitted, new alloy radiator, new slash panels and bumper rubbers
etc.
The sills and chassis rails have also been
waxed internally and the car then re-painted by our vendor in the original
colour with new correct badges fitted and a new sunroof
seal.
Our vendor was keen to keep the car to
the correct period spec and is quite frank about a few jobs that need doing
including sorting the interior light, correcting the door locks (2 keys) and
fitting a fuel accumulator.
The car looks well
given the project was completed at home by our vendor, starting and sounding
very good and was driven to the sale.
The
history file includes the V5C showing six former keepers, an info sheet from our
vendor about what was done etc, images of the work undertaken including the car
on a spit, old tax discs, old style log-book, the current MOT valid until August
2024 showing no advisories and two old MOTs.
The vendor hopes to find some bills for bits purchased and if
found, will drop them off with us for the new owner.
