Under the guidance of VW/Bentley’s
Dirk Van Braeckel, a svelte 4-seater 2-door coupe was unveiled in 2003. The car
was new from top to bottom and featured a 5,998cc W12 engine. This configuration
kept the engine short, while two massive turbochargers ensured a monumental
552bhp and 480lb/ft of torque.
Power was transmitted to all
four wheels via a six-speed ZF gearbox, a combination of grip and grunt that
endowed the 2.35-tonne leviathan with tremendous pace, 60mph coming up in just
4.8 seconds with a top speed just shy of 200mph, all delivered without a ripple
on a glass of champagne.
SA04CWS is one of the earliest examples of
the CGT, first registered in June 2004, showing six previous keepers on the
logbook and only 43,662 miles on the odometer, this Continental GT comes with an
advisory-free MOT until March 2026.
Coming with its original
handbooks, the service book shows no fewer than 26 stamps, the
last in November 2019 at 34,571 miles, giving an average service
interval of under 1,700 miles! (The first couple of stamps and the most recent
are shown in the photos).
As you can tell from the
photos, it is in very nice condition throughout. Driven to the sale, it has
been running and driving nicely on site with a wonderful burble from the
exhaust.
