Description
In the
current ownership for 15 years; recently recommissioned following 10 years in
storage; four new tyres; new Weber carb; stainless steel exhaust; professional
repaint; the car you always promised
yourself!
First
registered in Hertfordshire in October 1977, this Capri 3.0 Ghia Automatic is
showing 115,129 miles on the clock with 10 old MOTs to show that it was in
regular use from 1986 (when it was showing 50,576 miles) to 2013 when it was put
into dry storage.
There are lots of invoices for
regular upkeep and new parts fitted from 1990 – 2008 including new front wings
in 1998 and a new stainless steel exhaust system with a lifetime guarantee in
2008.
Our vendor, a professional mechanic,
acquired the car in 2010 to join his collection of interesting cars and it has
mainly been kept in storage since. Notes from the vendor state that the 3.0
Essex V6 engine was rebuilt approximately 5,000 miles ago.
During his ownership he states that it has had a complete floor
renovation and both sills replaced, all treated and undersealed. It has also been treated to a
professional repaint.
Other recent jobs include:
new set of carpets; new seat bases; 3-speed automatic gearbox serviced;
electrics refreshed as required; new Weber DGAS carb and four new tyres.
As you can see in the photos, it looks to be in
generally good condition for its age/mileage and has been starting promptly and
running well as we have moved it around on site, with healthy oil pressure and a
pleasingly rorty noise from the stainless steel exhausts.
