Ford Essex V6 engine
First
registered in February 1977 and with the current owner for just over 39
years, (a
vehicle technician who over the years has undertaken a thorough restoration) and
has now been used regularly for around three years.
The
works carried out include a body off chassis repair and a full engine rebuild
with two ported and polished heads, block rebore with new pistons, rings,
bearings, crank regrind, steel timing gears, lead free valve seats, valves,
water pump, oil pump, facet fuel pump, prop shaft, rear drive shafts, universal
joints, alternator, radiator, swirl pot, electronic ignition, clutch, clutch
cables, exhausts and downpipes.
The
steering rack has been refurbished, alongside suspension parts including ball
joints, shock absorbers, bushes and track rod ends. The brakes have also
received the full treatment with new discs, caliper seals, brake cylinders,
bearings, cables and the wheels have been refurbished.
The
body has benefited from a full respray around 15 years ago with the webasto
sunroof being recovered. The window motors were also replaced when the new
wiring loom was fitted. Additionally, a new headliner was fitted in
2023.
The
paperwork includes the current V5C and the original owner’s
handbook.
It
has been starting on the button and driving on
site.
