Smart,
later model 2.8 Injection Capri with tidy Recaro interior from a 2.8 Injection
Special; showing 69,982 miles; from local enthusiast ownership
Dating from June 1983, this appealing Ford Capri 2.8 Injection is a
later MkIII example finished in two-tone blue over grey and sits on 13in Pepper
Pot alloy wheels set off by a neat red coachline on the bodywork.
Under
the bonnet, we find the later 2.8 litre fuel-injected Cologne V6 engine which
replaced the traditional 3.0 carb’d Essex version which was unable to keep up
with ever more stringent emmissions rules.
Despite a lower displacement, power was up to a claimed 160bhp driving
the rear wheels via the later five-speed manual gearbox.
Inside this
example we find the comfortable half-leather Recaro interior from a later 2.8
Injection Special variant (fitted in 2013), manual windows, sunroof,
heated rear screen and original radio/cassette player.
The Capri shows 69,982 miles and
presents well with a few minor blemishes but generally looks in good
order.
The history file includes the V5C showing nine former
keepers, the owner’s pack with replacement service booklet recording four
stamps: in 2012 at 60,428 miles, 2013, 2014 and most recently in 2016 at 64,753
miles all by Autostart of Alnwick.
In addition, the file includes 10
old MOTs and a selection of bills for works undertaken and parts purchased
including a £1,047 spend in September 2022 on a service and replacement head
gasket at 69,155 miles by Canon Motors of Hereford.
Ready to be enjoyed,
this 2.8 injection looks most appealing at the guide price.
