2005 BMW M3 CSL (E46)
No. 50 of 65 cars showing just 58,221Km; South African car imported to UK in 2016 in superb, unmolested order
Supplied new to South Africa in January 2005 where it remained until import and registration in the United Kingdom in April 2016. A UK BMW dealer has usefully provided full vehicle and option details for the car which suggests the car is a European country version built in Regensburg and finished in Silver grey metallic (A08) with ‘Laser Amaretta refelex’ interior trim. The options fitted include (but are not limited to) climate comfort windscreen (358), headlight washer system (502), PDC (508), xenon lights (522), automatic air conditioning (534), speedometer with KM reading (548), main battery switch (818), South African Version (824) and English language version (853). The history file includes a print-out of its South African dealer visits from Motorplan CIA which look to include warranty work dating from 2005 (delivery Km) to 2014 at 53,328Km. Another document from BMW service in January 2016 shows the car had covered 57,236km with further copy invoices on file showing the car was serviced for its owner, resident in Johannesburg in August 2014 at 53,328km and then again for new discs and pads in May 2005 at 55,341KM costing some 16,933Rand. The car was imported to the UK as stated in April 2016 and registered AW54JWV when it was MOT’d at 57,484KM. The car was then due to be exported to New Zealand, but for reasons unknown this was cancelled and the car never left the UK. MOT records online show the car was MOT’d again in October 2017 at 57,815Km, in November 2018 at 57,963KM and again in May 2020 at 58,027.
A slight complication may arise because the vehicle shows as Exported in June 2016, although it has remained in the UK since arrival from South Africa. We have a copy V5C so we suggest the buyer will need to write to DVLA and include the copy V5C and VOSA MOT record along with DVLA V62 form (application for a replacement log book). Our vendor purchased the car two years ago, the car still wearing its UK plates as pictured here and has remained in his private collection only leaving for its annual MOT. It is in superb order throughout, wearing a plaque suggesting it’s a limited edition No. 50 of 65 cars.
