Description
1967 MG Midget Mk III
Showing just under
70,000 miles; impressive looking Mk III; well cared for inside and out;
accompanied by Heritage Certificate
A
cracking example of the wee MG Midget. First despatched from the factory in June
1967, according to the supplied heritage certificate, it was initially issued
with disc wheels, a heater, head lamp flasher unit, tonneau cover and the
laminated windscreen.
Records
from owners and online databases trace the car back to 1990, when it was
recorded as having been damaged. It is not known to what extent, but it does
imply that it was restored to somewhat before being sold on in 1994. Further
restoration continued until c.1998 which included an unleaded head fitted, new
petrol tank and multiple cosmetics and routine maintenance, which not only
provided a cracking little car but also produced quite a lot of bills, most if
not all are on file.
After
this, it was regularly MOTd until this day, not only showing the mileage is
consistent but also that it was regularly maintained and used. There are
invoices covering most of this period, documenting oil changes, brake renewals,
replacing ignition parts and all those jobs that need doing every so often to a
car such as this. More recently in 2016, the centre and rear section of the
exhaust was replaced too, along with a front and rear telescopic shock
conversion.
Shortly
after this in 2017, the current registered keeper acquired the car and got to
work in making it the very presentable car that it is today. 2018 saw the
bumpers being taken off, the panels all being made good and a repaint taking
place. Now presented for sale again after the unfortunate death of the owner,
the Midget is ready, willing and waiting to be driven again. Showing only 67,000
miles, holding a valid MOT until January next year with no advisories and
sporting the handy luggage rack, this could be the car to drive and surprise
your family with this Christmas!
