Supplied new in March 2005 by
Porsche Centre Cutton Coldfield, this earlier 987 generation of Boxster features
the proven 2.7-litre flat-six engine, developing 236bhp driving the rear wheels
through manual transmission resulting in a 0-60mpg sprint of just 6.2 seconds -
more than enough for some proper fun.
Produced at Porsche's Valmat plant
in Finland (502) and finished here in Arctic Silver (L92U) with contrasting
Metropol Blue leather interior and blue mohair hood the car benefits from the
following options, as found on the option sticker afixed inside the service book
- 18inch Boxster wheels 987.1 S (397), CD compartment (424), 12-way adjustable
driver (437) and passenger (438) seats with adj. lumbar, coloured Porsche crest
wheel centre caps (446), driver's seat memory (538), wind deflector (551),
top-tinted windscreen (567), Park assist (635), Bose sound system (680) and
leather seats with leatherette rear side (946).
Within the history file,
we find the V5C showing just three owners, the current since May 2015, selection
of Porsche owner booklets and service book showing 4 stamps plus 1 hand-written
entry at 67,760 miles by the Porscheshop plus a further 4 stamps for brake fluid
changes, 2 stamps for long-life condition reports, 1 stamp for airbag system
check and 3 for Service campaigns (factory recalls).
In addition,
we find the current MOT, valid until March 2022 with 3 minor advisories relating
to fitment of factory undertrays obscuring the view (?!), tyre wear and slight
play in a NSF trackrod end, 3 old MOTs and a selection of invoices
including a £678 spend on replacement brake pipe and two front coil springs in
August 2014, replacement coil pack in August 2016, discs, pads and 6 new coil
packs in Agust 2015 costing £481, brake fluid change in 2016 and more recently,
a service at PorscheShop costing £697 in May 2019 including rear wishbones,
4-wheel laser geometery plugs and belts and another for a replacement oil/air
seperator breather in October 2019 costing £134 also at
PorscheShop.
Looking sharp and ready to be enjoyed, 987 Boxsters are a
hoot to drive, fast, capable, comfortable and entirely usable even on an daily
basis thanks to the comfortable interior, two useful boot spaces and with
just 71,900 miles showing, by 3 owners there's little not to be excited
about.
