1966 Triumph TR4A
Owned for the last eleven years;
thought to have only had three recorded keepers since new and regularly
maintained by each one; often dry stored in London covering very few miles
before being bought by our vendor
Thought to have
had only three recorded keepers over the last 55 years, this TR4A has been with
our vendor since he purchased it in 2010. It had been in the hands
of the previous owner since 1986 and the owner before that to at least
1978.
The odometer is showing 28,000 miles, which cannot be verified,
although should not necessarily be dismissed bearing in mind the overall
condition. The recorded MOTs steadily take it back to 18,000 miles in 1990 and
the understanding is that at least one previous owner kept it in storage in
London for many years.
The current owner gave
it a quality respray shortly after he bought it. This surely was the right thing
to do, returning it to its original ‘paint code 19’ white after being a shade of
red for a few years. Accompanying the car in the file of paperwork are a
good bunch of photos showing the car mid paint.
It comes equipped with wire wheels that are in cracking order,
overdrive of course and a replacement walnut dash. A CD player has also been
fitted, the hood and interior are generally in good order and the doors all
clunk shut rather nicely.
This car has
obviously been very well looked after and loved over the years, our vendor
having looked after it for a substantial time, visiting shows all over the
country. He is very reluctantly offering it for sale due to ill health
and it must be sold, hence the very inviting estimate.
