1979 MGB Roadster
Loads of money spent over
the last four years; recent exhaust; Mini-lite style wheels; tonneau and
hood cover; all up together starter Classic
Purchased by the vendor
in 2017 as a part (well nearly)-finished project, he has spent the last four
years improving it and bringing it to the standard we see today.
All
invoices for the parts are on file, along with a summary list detailing all of
the major works completed.
The structure of the car was sorted
professionally, including repairs to the sill and floorpan area and the doors
were replaced with good used examples.
The car arrived with a new
full and half tonneau cover. The electrics were overhauled with a new ignition
switch, plug leads, alternator, flasher unit and rocker switches, dizzy and
rotor arm kit and cooling fan motor.
The brakes were fully overhauled
with new copper pipes, front pads and rear shoes. The clutch master cylinder and
slave cylinder were also replaced.
The suspension also came in for
treatment, with new front springs and anti rollbar links, new rear spring U
bolts and axle oil seals. The fuel pump was replaced and the carburettors
overhauled with new floats/needles etc. All in all, a myraid of small parts were
replaced and much care and attention given.
The end result is a
well-sorted Roadster, the vendor looking for a new project to spend his time
sorting out. There is nothing in the way of previous history, other than the six
previous keepers recorded on the V5c - the car standing on its merits as an
eminently usable example of the breed, offered at a most realistic guide price.
Well worth a closer look.
