2004 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Tiptronic
(997)
Nice spec early 997 Gen 1; well stamped service book;
89,000 miles; driven 150 miles to the sale
Delivered by the Porsche
Centre Nottingham in December 2004, its first owner certainly had their pen
whiring when ticking the option boxes.
Extra cost items included
Tiptronic five-speed with steering wheel controls, auto dim mirrors, a rain
sensor, headlamp wash, special Porsche crest caps to the wheels, auto speed
control, Porsche Active Suspension Management; a top tinted screen, Xenon
headlights, a Nav DVD and Bose sound system and park assist.
The Porsche
Centre Nottingham saw it a year later for service, with 19,800 miles on the
clock so it certainly got a good workout in the first year of its life. There
are eight serivce stamps in total, mainly though Porsche specialists with bills
on file too. Its most recent service took place just last month at 88,580
miles.
Its current owner realised at this point that he had only covered
some 200 miles since he bought it, hence its inclusion into the sale - an 'itch
scratched' one could say.
He drove it 150 miles to us for the sale,
nearly as many as has he had covered since he acquired the car in January
2020. The V5C lists 10 previous keepers.
It retains its original bookpack
with handbook and service book, plus old MOTs etc which all confirm its
modest overall mileage.
Looking smart in Seal grey with black leather
upholstery, it presents well with just a few minor stone incursions as one would
expect on a car of this age and mileage.
The 997 countered a lot of the
criticism levelled at its predecessor, the 996, particularly in the area of the
headlights. They offer huge value, this example being offered simply due to lack
of use.
