Description
Two owners from new - father and son; only 43,282 miles with 13
service stamps; much loved; highly original; just how we like
them!
Supplied by VW main dealer
Philip Mist of Sutton Coldfield in May 1991, this cute little Polo was bought
new by our vendor's father to mark his retirement as a Civil Engineer,
his wife being nominated to choose the colour. He was loyal to the Volkswagen brand having previously owned a Beetle
and a Golf.
This Polo was always serviced at the
VW main dealer under his ownership, covering around 1,000 miles a year. In 2004
it was passed to his younger son who used it
to drive his elderly mother to annual holidays in
Wales.
It has covered only 43,282 miles in
34 years and has been serviced religiously with no fewer than 13 stamps in the
book, giving an average service interval of just 3,300 miles. There are
many invoices for additional upkeep and 18 old MOTs to further warrant the
mileage. The last MOT was issued in November 2023 and it has only covered 485
miles since.
This super
little Polo is a rare example of a base model remaining exactly as it left the
factory in the Nineties, including the plastic trims on steel wheels.
It even retains that unique Volkswagen 'new car smell'. OK, there is a
little bit of rust appearing and a few dings but that is only to be expected for
a vehicle of this age. What a cracking little car!
