First registered in September
1978 this fine example of the Series IIA 109” long wheelbase was known as the
workhorse of the empire, being the go-to vehicle for military, agricultural and
expedition use.
This well-cared for example
has spent over 13 years with the current owner and previous to this with another
local owner for just over seven years.
Seen here proudly shining in
the iconic Bronze green with the Limestone roof, bonnet mounted spare wheel,
wire light guards, tow bar, mud flaps, rear step and a fabulous dashboard with a
full complement of gauges and switchgear Additional comfort is available thanks
to the addition of some later Rover style seats up front with side mounted bench
in the rear.
The engine springs into life
with the unmistakable sound of these unstoppable diesel engines and has been
driving around the site without issue.
Of course, now MOT and Tax
exempt but has regularly had MOT checks with paperwork for 11 of these. The
paperwork file has valuation certificates, photographs, numerous invoices for
spares and an engine rebuild in 2015.
Eligible for the classic The Italian Job
charity run to Turin Italy, you could be following the footsteps of the famous
bank robbers from the film where in the Piazza Palazzo Di Citto a similar Land
Rover was used to tow the gold bullion wagon..... next stop
Turin!
