You’ve got to
hand it to the Italians – they do know how to make a gorgeous-looking drop-top
and the Spider version of the Brera Coupe is no exception. From the predatory
‘snarling tiger’ front end to the ‘flying buttress’ roll-over hoops and the
menacing quad exhaust tail-pipes, it just oozes Italian brio with clever design
features wherever you look.
Launched in 2006, only 12,363 Spiders were
made before production came to an end in 2010, making this a sure-fire classic
of the future.
Supplied new by Alexanders of
Teesdale in May 2008, this Spider has the 185bhp 2.2 JTS petrol engine mated to
6-speed manual transmission which made it good for 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds with a
top speed of 139mph. Being a Limited Edition (LE) model, it is packed with extra
features like 19” alloy wheels, leather upholstery, Bluetooth hands-free system,
parking sensors, electric memory seats with adjustable lumbar support etc.
It has covered 63,735 miles to date with an
excellent service history comprising eight stamps in the book (plus PDI),
the last at 61,519 miles in October 2022 (see photos). There is an invoice for
another oil and filter service in April 2024 at 63,263
miles.
Various other invoices show additional
maintenance and new parts fitted including: new front brake pads in April 2025;
electric roof lubricated/serviced in May 2024; new Bosch battery in Feb 2023;
new timing chain kit at 44,384 miles in Dec 2015.
The V5C records six former keepers and it has an MOT until April 2026
plus four old MOTs. All the handbooks are present plus two key
fobs.
As you can see in the photos, this Alfa
looks very smart indeed and the electric roof works as it should, the only real
blemish we noted being a slight dent on the front right wheelarch (as pictured).
Starting promptly and running well as we have moved it around on site, it will
be a very stylish way to get around over the remaining summer
months.
