Much loved and cared for
example; beautiful Racing Green bodywork; 3.9L V8 with a five-speed manual
gearbox; soft top roof; 31,966 miles showing with an average of only 998 per
year!
The 1992 TVR V8S is one of the most coveted versions of the S
Series — a proper British bruiser with a big heart and a rebellious
streak.
With the 3.9L Rover V8, producing around 240 bhp mated to 5-speed
manual (LT77 gearbox) and only around 410 examples built between 1991–1994 it’s
a rare sight on today’s roads, this is the last and most powerful of the S
Series.
First
registered in September 1992 and showing three former keepers and under current
ownership for over four years.
Having received a restoration
makeover in the current owners’ hands this beautiful V8 S will most definitely
stand out in any line up, the British Racing Green paintwork looks fabulous and
the leather trim, dashboard, and mohair roof all very good for its age of 32
years.
The history file includes the present and correct handbook that it
left the supplying dealer with; the service book featuring nine stamps from 1992
with 18 miles through to 2000. It’s noted that in 1998 the speedometer was
replaced by the THR centre in Arkley at 14,467 miles with a new unit. The
service book confirms this with the next services recorded at 8,464 and 15,023
miles.
Adding the 14,467 to the current mileage of 17,499 gives a grand
total of 31,966 which is an average of 998 miles per year!
Further
additions to the history file include 13 old MOT certificates, with the current
valid until May 2026. Further inclusions are encapsulated detailed wiring
diagrams, alternate supplier parts lists and a weighty pile of invoices for work
to the vehicle over the years.
Under the current ownership a very
proactive maintenance attitude has seen many improvements and repairs including,
the brake system overhaul with new discs and pads all round, replacement rear
shock adsorbers and springs, stainless-steel coolant pipes, silicone hoses and
coolant. The engine has been given a thorough service to include spark plugs,
leads and distributor cap and arm.
The restoration work did not stop
there with the body having a full respray, new bumper rubbers, the alloy wheels
refurbished, a new windscreen fitted, the dashboard refurbished, new heat
shielding under bonnet and finally the chassis was painstakingly wire brushed
and waxoil treated.
The engine fires into life with the unmistakable
burble signalling its desire to be out on the open road.
