Description
Volksrod 1,600cc Beach Buggy;
fantastically detailed build; superb attention to detail; the ultimate summer
fun; icon of freedom and fun; yes, its the summer of
1976!
First registered as a 1300 VW Beetle De Luxe in May 1972 and
then built as a GP Beach Buggy in 1985 and inspected by the DVLA. In 2013 a
major rebuild commenced and the new Volksrod body was fitted along with
many parts that are fully detailed in chronological order in the vehicle’s history file.
The current owner,
a fantastically talented and skilled chap with an eye for detail then purchased
the buggy in November 2023 and set about creating the beautiful masterpiece
you’re now reading about. With no deadline and working for pure enjoyment, we
are sure you will agree that his results are
stunning.
The same level of care and
detail has been taken to compile a fantastic history file that hopefully the new
owner will keep updated for the many years of fun this wonderfully fun vehicle
will no doubt give.
The interior is simple and
uncluttered as a buggy should be, the front seats have full harness seat belts
and in the back its lap belts. The controls are all present and correct, the
Momo steering wheel is a delight to hold and the simple gearshift
direct.
Around the back is the exposed
1600cc engine with lots of chrome and polished parts. The polished SSP
Sidewinder stainless steel exhaust is a total work of art and sounds fantastic
without being too loud.
As per the level of detail
across this vehicle, the engine is no different, the valve clearances were just
checked last week, and we can confirm the engine leaks no
oil.
Please do study the pictures
and video, it’s a special vehicle!
